Broccoli's Family- History of an illustrious family

My Family

Abbey of Montecassino

Among the many distinguished personalities who made the Broccoli family, can not forget:

Francesco Broccoli (1706-1775) Bishop of Polignano a Mare (BA) in 1767. Erected in Polignano, the Monte di Pietà. At his death he left a fortune of 5000 ducats in money, to be divided among the neediest citizens of the country.

Michele Broccoli (1781-1826) Canon of the Cathedral Dean Teano, writer, historian, author of important historical works, among which include "Teano Sidicino Ancient and Modern" in six volumes. It was also a member of the Royal Academy of Arcadi Sebezi and 'Arcadia in Rome.




Angelo Broccoli (1842-1924) archaeologist and Jurisconsult insigne.Avvocato at the Court of Appeal of Naples. Captain with the Staff of the National Guard of Naples (1866), participated in the wars for Italian independence from 1860 to 1870. Author of 80 publications of archaeological argument. Provincial Councilor of Terra di Lavoro (EC) (1877-1903), Vice-Chairman of the Provincial Council in 1900, Member of Parliament for the National Colleges of Teano, Caserta II, and again for Teano Legislature from fourteenth to seventeenth, uninterrupted, and the nineteenth and twenty-first legislature.

Mr. Francis Broccoli (Neaples 3 febb.1813 m. to Vairano Patenora 12 giu.1894) Consul of the Republic of San Marino in Naples, won by the Prince and Sovereign of the Republic, at its meeting on 8 March 1869, patriciate hereditary transmissible to offspring males and females
